A new way to skip the coffee
Asahi Mintia Dry Hard Mints
What is it?
Asahi's MINTIA line of tic tac-sized breathe mints truly pack a punch. The
entire line is a best seller in Japan, but the "Dry Hard" version deserves its
own ranking. Each little "tablet" packs a bitter mint punch that's chokingly strong.
And, beneath all that is a kick of caffeine! How much? It's hard to determine... I've not a clue.
The exact amount of caffeine included in each "tablet" isn't listed on the case,
nor on their website. I can, however, attest to MINTIA's capacity to let me skip
my biggest addiction: COFFEE! How strong? If compared to an Altoids Small,
I'd guess it's about 50% stronger in the "mint" category. The caffeine?
I'd say about 5 tablets "feels" like a good solid cup of coffee.
The case is absolutely ingenious. Unlike other products, this one doesn't
open in my bag and spread mint-dust on everything it touches. When this little
case snaps shut, it's shut!
From the Asahi Website, Dry Hard is intended for the caffeinated mint
heavy-user.
Where can you get one?
That Asahi Dry Hard Mint is available in most convenience stores across Japan.
It can also be ordered online.
From Asahi?
Yep! This is the same company that produces one of the finest beers known
to mankind: Asahi Super Dry. From my experience, wherever you see the
Asahi logo, you can be assured of quality. Asahi's MINTIA line is no
exception.
